'Phoenix' flies at Italy's Giffoni fest
EmptyROME -- The Italian premiere of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" will take place at the Giffoni Film Festival in July, the first time an installment has premiered at a film festival in the country.
Giffoni organizers said Wednesday that the film will open the July 12-21 festival, the 37th edition of the event, which takes place near the southern city of Naples. The film opens nationwide a day later.
The world premiere of the fifth "Harry Potter" film will take place June 28 in Japan.
It is the second time in as many days that a major film announced a premiere at a southern Italian festival. On Tuesday, the Taormina Film Festival said it will host the world premiere of the Michael Bay action film "Transformers."
