Pia Zadora Hospitalized After Golf Cart Accident
She's in intensive care for a head injury
Las Vegas veteran Pia Zadora is in the hospital after sustaining a head injury in a golf cart accident.
Zadora, 60, fell from a golf cart Thursday near her home in Summerlin, Nev., her former manager and close friend confirms to The Hollywood Reporter. He says Zadora's prognosis is "very good." Her publicist adds that Zadora will have ankle surgery in Los Angeles in the next week or so.
She is in intensive care and has been in and out of consciousness, her husband, Mike Jeffries, told the Las Vegas Sun. Her injuries include a compound fracture of her right ankle as well as a head injury that has caused bleeding on her brain.
Zadora's two scheduled performances this weekend at Piero's Italian Cuisine in Las Vegas have been canceled.
Zadora first rose to prominence as an original castmember of Fiddler on the Roof and later became a solo performer. Last month she launched a new musical review, Pia Reloaded, which celebrated her life and career.
