Pixar, Disney promote animation aces
Jim Morris, Andrew Millstein to take over operations
AMSTERDAM -- "WALL-E" producer and industry effects production veteran Jim Morris has been named general manager for Pixar Animation Studios, and Disney animation exec Andrew Millstein will take on a parallel role at Walt Disney Animation Studios.
In the newly created positions, both will be responsible for overall operations of their respective studios and continue to oversee production related to animated features, short films and special animated projects. They report to Ed Catmull, president of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.
Millstein also will take over oversight of DisneyToon Studios.
Morris, who joined Pixar in 2005 after stints at Lucasfilm and its Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound divisions has been responsible for managing the production of the studio's features, shorts, DVD content and theme park activities.
Millstein began his association with Disney in 1997 as a production executive in the studio's Motion Pictures Group. Before joining Disney, he served as head of production for Digital Domain.
