Along with sister firms Rogers & Cowan and Octagon, among others, the firm will occupy eight full floors of the building known as Plaza II.

PMK*BNC will soon be a fixture of the Century City skyline, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The entertainment marketing and communications firm and nine of its IPG sister companies are moving from the Pacific Design Center to The Plaza at 1840 Century Park East late next year. Parent company Interpublic Group of Companies has signed an 11-year lease for 150,000 square feet of office space in the 19-story tower, making the move the largest Century City-bound commercial office relocation in more than a decade.

As the biggest company occupying the complex’s two Class A, LEED Silver-certfied properties, PMK*BNC will become the anchor tenant, with exclusive signage atop the 1840 Tower. Its Los Angeles headquarters will comprise more than 56,000 square feet across three full stories, plus space on the ground floor. In total, the IPG companies – PMK*BNC, Weber Shandwick, Rogers & Cowan, Jack Morton, Octagon, FRUKT, Advantage International, The Axis Agency, Dailey and Campbell Ewald – will occupy eight full floors of the building known as Plaza II.

“It’s a very exciting time for us, having experienced major growth this year, swelling to over 230 employees in L.A. alone,” said Michael Nyman, co-chairman and CEO of PMK*BNC, which has tapped acclaimed architecture firm Gensler to design its space. “Our growth, coupled with the desire to completely build out a new, collaborative work environment, plus the surge of exciting development in the Century City area and the opportunity to be among the bevy of entertainment and media companies there, makes The Plaza an excellent choice for us.”

Newmark Grubb Knight Frank executive vp and managing director Steven D. Kolsky and executive managing director Henry S. Kobrin represented IPG in the deal. The commercial real estate advisory firm also was responsible for consolidating the seven IPG agencies into West Hollywood’s PDC back in 2004.
