The Egyptian government has launched an investigation after the 10-minute video was spotted by a local newspaper.

Tourists visiting Egypt’s pyramids are often warned about causing any damage to the crumbling archeological sites or leaving any graffiti among the ancient hieroglyphics. But following a controversy that has erupted in the country over the past week, they could soon be advised against shooting their own amateur videos as well.

Authorities are now investigating after reports that a porno was filmed near the 4,500-year-old Giza pyramids. Posted online last year, a 10-minute video has gained major attention after it was spotted by local newspaper Al Masry Al Youm earlier in the month.

Shot on a handheld camera, the clip appears to show a Russian-speaking woman walking around the pyramids of Giza, briefly showing her breasts and giving the cameraman oral sex. According to reports, much of the video is shot in areas closed off to tourists. While the actress on the video hasn't been named, several media outlets have said she is a 23-year-old porn star named Aurita, who posts on a website called Porn Travelling.

"A set of sexually explicit scenes was illegally filmed inside the Giza Necropolis by a foreign tourist while visiting the site," Egypt’s antiquities minister Mamdouh Al Damaty said in a statement, adding that it had been referred to prosecutors for investigation.

Perhaps most upsetting for authorities is that Aurita didn’t appear to enjoy her historical surroundings, which are a huge draw for international tourists.

"This f—ing sucks. What is there to look at?" she says while driving past the pyramids, the only remaining member of the Seven Wonders of the World still in existence. "It really sucks. Even our resorts are better."
