Prabal Gurung's First-Ever Print Campaign Features Liya Kebede
The Ethiopian model is stunning in the designer's spring 2014 collection.
Prabal Gurung has released his first-ever print campaign, featuring model Liya Kebede.
Gurung -- who finds fans in Michelle Obama, Kate Middleton and Zoe Saldana, to name a few -- enlisted photographer Dan Jackson to shoot the Ethiopian model for his spring 2014 campaign. Kebede, who was styled by Tina Laakkonen, exudes confidence while posing in the collection's vibrant prints, and is seen opposite of a burning metallic rose.
While the spring ads will run exclusively in Out of Order magazine, the New York-based designer has teased several photos and an animated video on Instagram.
Gurung continues to rise in the fashion industry, having released his first Target collaboration in February 2013 and dressing A-listers Saldana, Lupita N'yong and Sandra Bullock on the red carpet this season.
Last September, Gurung attended his first NYC Ballet gala, where he was invited by Sarah Jessica Parker to design costumes for the performers. "When [Parker] asked me, never in my wildest dreams -- like, it’s been four and a half years since this little boy came from Nepal -- would be able to have any kind of contribution, opening one of the important nights in New York,” he told reporters on the red carpet.
