Preliminary hearing set in Jackson case

Judge to evaluate Dr. Conrad Murray's charges Jan. 4

A preliminary hearing in the manslaughter case against Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, will get underway January 4, 2011. The announcement was made Monday afternoon in Los Angeles. The hearing will allow the judge to determine if there is sufficient evidence for a full trial.

Dr. Murray has admitted to giving Jackson propofol before the singer died in June 2009, but he has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
