ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars makes it season five debut on Tuesday night, continuing the quest to uncover the mysterious "A." But you don’t have to be a die-hard Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson) or Emily (Shay Mitchell) fan to love the show, which is worth watching for the clothes alone.
Costume designer Mandi Line has crafted the girls' looks since the show's inception, and promises more of the same bold, fashion-forward outfits that we’ve come to know and love this season. "I can’t say too much, but let’s just say Hanna's character goes through a whole lot of changes, and she looks like she hangs around me now!," says the Los Angeles-based Line, who can usually be caught wearing Rick Owens, Vince, Helmut Lang, and Rag & Bone. "Emily gets a little more hip-hop, too -- all '90s out. I love it," she adds.
Line counts Zara, Nordstrom and vintage mecca Wasteland as some of her favorite places to shop for the girls on screen -- and with Sunday’s launch of her Pretty Little Liars-inspired summer collection for Aeropostale (seen below), its easier than ever to snag the girls’ looks as your own. "I truly live my dream," says Line. "I get to dress five perfect dolls every day!"
Here, Line shares her favorite workout tunes, or what she describes as "all gangster, good spin music," to get us pumped for the collection's debut. Party on.
