Written and to be directed by the Cologne-based American director Karl Haupt, the 2.5 million euro ($4 million) project is a romantic/psychedelic love story set in the mid-Sixties art scene of Cologne.
Haupt's Expressionist Films recently secured financing from the United Arab Emirates for a second project, the epic adventure story "The Coast of Pearls," which is set against the historical background of the UAE, and covers the last 80 years of change in the region. The film touches on pearl diving, piracy, desert warfare, and everyday oasis life.
