'Project' on runway for indie fest
"The Tehuacan Project," Andy Lauer's documentary short about a Mexican school for the deaf narrated by Adrien Brody and executive produced by Brad Pitt, is among the featured films at the first annual Independent Features Festival. The hybrid Web/theatrical fest has more than 200 full-length films and shorts available for viewing online at IndependentFeatures.com. Broadband users can vote on each film through June 30, and the top 20 finalists will be shown at New York's Tribeca Cinemas from July 27-29. The winning film will receive a red-carpet premiere and a theatrical distribution deal.
