ProSieben, Holzbrinck Verlag on travel team<br />
EmptyCOLOGNE, Germany -- German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 and publishing house Holzbrinck Verlag have set up a joint venture that will merge the two companies' Internet travel portals: ProSieben's www.reise.com and Holtzbrinck's www.reise.de.
In addition, the European Commission on Monday confirmed it has approved the deal between ProSieben's new-media unit SevenOne Intermedia and Holtzbrinck subsidiary eLAB, which focuses on online and interactive content.
ELAB is expected to provide the bulk of the startup capital and technical know-how for the new online operation. The joint venture marks the latest move online from Holtzbrinck, which has stakes in several German sites, including news platform golem, gaming site GameDuell and health portal netdoktor.de.
SevenOne owns German YouTube clone MyVideo and has a 30% stake in social networking site Lokalisten.de. The group also operates ProSieben's VOD platform maxdome.
