Publicists noms get word out
EmptyThe Hollywood Reporter's Anne Thompson was among five journalists nominated Monday by the ICG Publicists for its annual press award.
In addition to Thompson, who is deputy film editor at The Reporter, others nominated in the category include Dan Fierman, Entertainment Weekly; Elizabeth Snead, Los Angeles Times/The Envelope; Bonnie Tiegel, Entertainment Tonight/The Insider; and Susan Wloszcyna, USA Today. The awards will be handed out Feb. 7 during a luncheon ceremony at the Beverly Hilton.
Five publicists have been nominated for the Les Mason Award for career achievement: Tony Angellotti of the Angellotti Co., Hilary Clark of 20th Century Fox International, Jeff Hare of Warner Bros., Mary Hunter of Warner Bros. International, Pat Kingsley of PMK/HBH and Alan Nierob of Rogers & Cowan.
The Max Weinberg Publicist Showmanship Awards honor top teams of union publicists and their achievements of the past year in film and TV campaigns. In film, the nominees are publicists on "Borat," Fox; "The Devil Wears Prada," Fox; "Dreamgirls," DreamWorks-Paramount; "Happy Feet," Warner Bros.; and "United 93," Universal. In TV, the nominees are publicists on "ER," Warner Bros. Television, NBC; "Grey's Anatomy," ABC; "Jericho," Paramount TV, CBS Television; "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," Warner Bros., NBC; and "Ugly Betty," ABC, Touchstone Television.
Nominees for the organization's international media award are Philip Berk, Malaysia/Singapore; Claude Budin-Juteau, France; Mike Goodridge, U.K.; Anke Hofmann, Australia and Germany; and Lynn M. Tso, Taiwan.
And nominees for excellence in unit still photography are Andrew Cooper, Francois Duhamel, Melinda Sue Gordon and Zade Rosenthal Merie Wallace.
