QVC content streams to AOL Video
EmptyNEW YORK -- AOL has partnered with Liberty Media Corp.'s QVC network to bring two new channels to its video site, including the first live streaming service on the portal, the Time Warner subsidiary said Thursday.
QVC TV Live, which already has launched, will stream the shopping channel's content around the clock on AOL Video.
In addition, QVC On Demand, which will launch next week, will bring more than 400 clips of QVC content from network shows and programming events and be updated daily.
"QVC is one of the largest television networks in the U.S.," AOL Video senior vp Fred McIntyre said. "Offering its live and on-demand channels is a great addition to the broad array of content that is already available on AOL Video."
QVC already sells products on its Web site, QVC.com. Bob Myers, senior vp for the site, sees the deal as an opportunity to deepen the shopping network's Internet presence.
"Launching streaming video on AOL will allow more e-commerce consumers to experience QVC and our innovative product offerings," he said.
