Radio Disney to Kick Off 'N.B.T.' (Next BIG Thing) Concert Tour (Exclusive)
The eight city tour begins Sept. 5, featuring "N.B.T." alumni and Season 4 artists.
Radio Disney will expand its "N.B.T." -- Next BIG Thing -- franchise this fall, when the talent competition kicks off its very first concert tour on Monday, Sept. 5.
Featuring Season 4 "N.B.T" artists as well as alumni, the nationwide tour is set to begin in Chicago and continue through New York City, Boston, St. Louis, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco and finally, Celebration, Florida, where the artists will take their final bow on Dec. 10. Each stop will mix it up with a variety of venues, including local festivals, fairs and shopping centers.
"We are excited to give Radio Disney listeners the opportunity to see, hear and get to know this year's 'N.B.T.' artists as we kick off the competition with a tour that provides an in-person experience unlike any other talent competition show," said Kelly Edwards, executive director of music and programming at Radio Disney. "The mix of our veteran 'N.B.T.' artists with this year's contestants will offer fans a great show."
"N.B.T." has launched the careers of Kicking Daisies, Coco Jones and Hollywood Records' Allstar Weekend. The daily multiplatform feature highlights young, aspiring recording artists, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their music across national broadcast and online platforms. Over a 10-week period, Radio Disney and Disney Channel audiences are invited to vote for their favorite artists, with the winner selected to have their single released by Disney Music Group.
Tour sponsor Invisalign Teen will launch the "Straight Up Celebration" Sweepstakes on Thursday, Sept. 1, offering fans the chance to win a trip for four to the Radio Disney Holiday Concert in Celebration, Florida. Three runner-ups will receive price packages including an iPad, an iPod touch or iTunes gift cards.
Radio Disney is the No. 1, 24-hour radio network dedicated entirely to kids, tweens and their families. The network's current playlist includes artists such as Selena Gomez & The Scene, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Cody Simpson and Katy Perry.
