Ralph Rucci Returns to New York Fashion Week
The designer, who left his namesake label last year, returns to the runway with RR31.
Ralph Rucci fans, rejoice. After leaving his eponymous luxury clothing line in late 2014, the celebrated American couturier is back on the CFDA Fashion Week schedule for Fall 2016. According to WWD, which first reported the news, Rucci's new label, RR31, will encompass footwear and apparel at a broader price point than his previous line, and will make its debut on Tuesday, Feb. 16, slotted between Oscar de la Renta and Narcisco Rodriguez.
It's a highly anticipated return for the designer, who launched Chado Ralph Rucci in 1994 (he later dropped "Chado" from the name). A two-time nominee for the CFDA's Womenswear Designer of the Year Award, Rucci received the Andre Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2012 — an honor also bestowed upon the likes of Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta.
