Randall Barone Promoted at ABC Daytime

He will continue to oversee "The View" and "The Chew."

Randall Barone has been promoted to vice president of programming and develop for ABC daytime. He will report to Brian Frons, president of daytime at Disney/ABC Television Group.

In his new position, Barone will continue to oversee the programming and development for ABC's The View and new series The Chew, which recently replaced All My Children.

He developed The Chew with executive producer Gordon Elliot and his team at Follow Productions.

Barone was senior supervising producer at Good Morning America from 1990-98, where he oversaw special projects and traveled the show through Europe, Australia and Alaska. He was also a senior supervising producer at The Oprah Winfrey Show from 1998-99 before going to ABC. In 2000, he was tapped as the creative executive in charge of The View.

Barone has won Emmy Awards for Good Morning America.
