Randy and Evi Quaid Skip Santa Barbara Court Date
Actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi have missed another appearance at Santa Barbara Superior Court. The couple was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday for felony vandalism charges but attorney Robert Sanger said Randy could not make the date because his passport was confiscated by authorities in Canada, where the couple is seeking asylum.
Judge Donna Geck kept the couple's arrest warrants active following this latest no-show, according to the Associated Press, and noted that Quaid "has had multiple occasions to appear on this matter prior to his passport being taken."
Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board will review the Quaids' asylum application on Nov. 23.
The Quaids are accused of causing more than $5000 in damages while squatting in a guest house they once owned in the California coastal town.
