'Ray Donovan' Actress Joins Indie Drama 'Grass Stains' (Exclusive)
Paula Malcomson, Annabeth Gish and Ryan Lee are the latest to join the indie coming-of-age drama.
Paula Malcomson, who plays Liev Schreiber’s wife in Showtime’s acclaimed new show Ray Donovan, Annabeth Gish from AMC’s new series The Bridge, Super 8 actor Ryan Lee and Bill Sage have joined the cast of the indie coming-of-age drama Grass Stains.
Kyle Wilamowski wrote the script and is directing the movie, shooting in North Carolina and being produced by Haven Entertainment, Deckplate Films and Painstaking Pictures.
Mud breakout Tye Sheridan and Kaitlyn Dever star in the drama, which also includes Austin Abrams and Beau Mirchoff.
The script centers on Sheridan as a teen discovering his first love (Dever). When a prank goes awry and causes the death of his girlfriend’s older brother, the boy must balance his secret guilt with his feelings for the girl.
Malcomson will play Sheridan’s mother, while Gish and Sage play Dever's parents. Lee plays a member of Sheridan’s inner circle of friends who participates in the prank.
Matt Perniciaro, Kevin Mann and Rachel Miller of Haven are producing with Deckplate's Steve Olivera and Michael Sherman.
Malcomson, who also is known for playing Jennifer Lawrence’s mother in The Hunger Games movies, is repped by UTA and Seven Summits Pictures & Management.
Gish is repped by Innovative and Thruline Entertainment. Lee, who appeared in This Is Forty, is repped by ICM and Principato-Young Entertainment. Sage, whose credits include Precious and Boardwalk Empire, is repped by Don Buchwald and Associates.
