The La Mesa estate, a house perfect for the musically inclined, has been listed by The Agency for $22 million in Santa Monica. The house, which includes a recording studio, was transformed this fall into a showhouse, dubbed "The 'House of Rock," which featured designs by Elaine Culotti, Ralph Pucci, David Bromstad, Susan Cohen, Sami Hayek and Kyle Schuneman. The 11,000-square-foot house, six-bedroom residence was designed by architect Elmer Grey in 1926 and once belonged to opera singer and actress Kathryn Grayson (Showboat, Kiss Me Kate), who entertained the likes of Mario Lanza, Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra. The sale is represented by agents Billy Rose, Susan Pekich and Mauricio Umansky of The Agency. [The Agency]
