'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills': Bravo Family Reacts to Russell Armstrong's Death
Fellow members of the cable franchise offer their condolences to Taylor Armstrong and her family.
Bravo execs aren’t the only ones who are "deeply saddened" by the death of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ cast member Russell Armstrong. Several members of the Housewives franchise have offered their condolences to Taylor Armstrong, his estranged wife, and to the couple’s 5-year-old daughter via social media.
This isn’t the first time the franchise has suffered the loss of one of its male counterparts, as Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss lost her fiancé, Ashley “A.J.” Jewell, in late 2009.
“I am so very sad about today's news,” head honcho Andy Cohen writes. “My prayers and thoughts are with Taylor Armstrong and her family.”
“Shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Russell Armstrong,” tweets Real Housewives of New York’s Jill Zarin. “My love and prayers to @TaylorArmstrong and her daughter.”
“Such a tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to Taylor and Kennedy and the Armstrong family,” adds RHONY’s LuAnn de Lesseps.
“When I hear REAL problems like what's happened w/ @TaylorArmstrong's family,it puts everything else that I feel r problems into perspective,” notes Jacqueline Laurita of Real Housewives of New Jersey.
“My sympathy and condolences go out to Taylor and Kennedy. My thoughts and prayers are with them,” writes RHOBH castmate Camille Grammer.
“So sorry 2 hear about Russell Armstrong's death. I hope @taylorarmstrong's privacy is respected during this difficult time,” adds RHONJ’s Caroline Manzo.
“No words can express how much my heart is breaking for my fellow housewife sister @taylorarmstrong and her daughter,” laments Gretchen Rossi of Real Housewive of Orange County. “Please keep her and her family in your prayers and thoughts today. RIP Russell Armstrong.”
Taylor filed for divorce last month, alleging that Russell physically abused her. She was informed by authorities of his death Monday night. "Taylor Armstrong is devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded," her rep tells E! News. "She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter."
Russell’s body was found hanging in the bedroom of his Mulholland Drive apartment Monday night. He did not leave a suicide note, though officials tell The Hollywood Reporter that the death is being treated as a suicide.
Season 2 of RHOBH premieres Sept. 5 with added castmates Brandi Gianville (actor Eddie Cibrian’s ex-wife) and Armstrong pal Dana Wilkey.
