Ferguson will star as Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind, who worked for Barnum in 1950.

Chernin Entertainment and Laurence Mark are producing the pic.

Justin Paul and Benj Pasek, who were Tony-nominated for The Christmas Story, are writing original songs for the film.

Kira Goldberg is overseeing the project for Twentieth Century Fox.
