Rebordinos takes over San Seb Film Fest
Mikel Olacirequi remains director for Sept. 17-25 editionMADRID -- Jose Luis Rebordinos has been named to take over as the new director of the San Sebastian International Film Festival, the Spanish-speaking world's most prestigious fest, organizers have announced.
Rebordinos is to take over the post on Jan. 1, 2011, from Mikel Olacirequi who has resigned for what was described as "purely personal reasons."
Olacirequi will still be in charge of the next edition of the festival to be held Sept. 17-25 in the northern Spanish resort seaside resort city of San Sebastian.
Rebordinos, 48, sits on the board of the festival and is director of the annual San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival and the city's Human Rights Film Festival.
He is also chief editor and co-author of a series of books about filmmakers, including Shinya Tsukamoto, Montxo Armendariz and Julio Medem.
