Left/Right and Fabrik Entertainment, two U.S. subsidiaries of the German group, will support the festival's independent pilot and pitch projects.

Red Arrow Entertainment Group, the production arm of German broadcasting group ProSiebenSat.1, is backing the New York Television Festival with cash to help develop new TV comedy projects.

Two Red Arrow production subsidiaries — New York-based Left/Right, producers of Bravo series Odd Mom Out, and L.A.-based Fabrik (Burn Notice) — will back the festival's independent pilot competition and its pitch project.

Left/Right will select a pilot and producer from this year's pilot competition to receive a $10,000 grant and the opportunity to jointly develop his or her idea for television. Fabrik executives will be among those judging the comedy scripts submitted to the festival's official artists program, with a least one writer guaranteed to receive a deal.

Submissions, television or digital, for the independent pilot competition have to be between 4-60 minutes long and must be submitted by June 29. Details can be found on the New York Television Festival website.

Red Arrow parent company ProSiebenSat.1 is looking to expand its international co-production business and recently put out an open call for pitches for new series and mini-series projects. The Munich-based broadcaster has called on writers and producers from around the world to submit ideas for “fresh and compelling TV series with a broad and entertaining cinematic appeal.”

ProSiebenSat.1 plans to develop selected projects with the aim of co-producing shows together with international partners.

Participants can log onto www.Prosiebensat1.com/international to submit project proposals and to access all necessary information and requirements. The submission period runs from June 1 to Aug. 3.
