The king of dollar DVDs had been testing movie rentals in the HD format. Redbox confirmed Thursday it will offer Blu-ray in 13,300 kiosk locations nationwide beginning immediately and throughout its entire 23,000-location rental system in the fall.
"Offering Blu-ray is an exiting opportunity for Redbox to expand our product offerings and build on the relationships that we've established with millions of consumers," Redbox president Mitch Lowe said.

The first wave of Blu-ray titles being loaded into kiosks include Warner Home Video's "The Book of Eli," Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's "The Bounty Hunter" and Universal Studios Home Entertainment's "Green Zone."
