The actress and producer combine their efforts, already have films in development.

Reese Witherspoon and her Type Film has merged with producer Bruna Papandrea and her Make Movies banner, creating a new production shingle named Pacific Standard.

Witherspoon launched a producing shingle after the success of Legally Blonde. Papandrea was the president of indie house Groundswell Pictures before going it alone, and is a producer on Warm Bodies, a zombie love story from Jonathan Levine.

Pacific Standard is already developing several projects, one of which is titled Wild. Wild based on an upcoming novel by Cheryl Strayed and is described as “a powerful and honest memoir that tells the story of an 1100 mile solo hike that breaks down a young woman reeling from catastrophe—and brings her back to life,” according to the announcement hailing the creation of Pacific Standard.

The announcement made it clear how the new principals were beyond thrilled to be working together.

"I've always been impressed by Bruna's taste and her skills as a producer. I'm very excited to be working with her,” Witherspoon stated.  “It's a pleasure to collaborate with someone so smart, fun and formidable

Said Papandrea: "In Reese I have found a like-minded and incredibly passionate partner who genuinely shares the same goals. I’ve had a wonderful time producing movies independently but I couldn't be more excited about the company and brand we will create together.”
