Reese Witherspoon-Sofia Vergara Action Comedy Gets Three New Cast Additions (Exclusive)
Anne Fletcher is directing the movie, previously known as "Don't Mess With Texas," which begins shooting this week as John Carroll Lynch, Richard T. Jones and Robert Kazinsky join the cast.
John Carroll Lynch, Richard T. Jones and True Blood actor Robert Kazinsky are joining MGM's and New Line's untitled female buddy action comedy that stars Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara.
Anne Fletcher is directing the movie, which was previously known as Don't Mess With Texas and begins shooting this week.
The story centers on an uptight, by-the-book cop (Witherspoon) who is trying to protect the sexy and outgoing widow of a drug boss (Vergara) as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.
Lynch will play Witherspoon's humorless captain while Jones will play her cocky detective partner. Kazinsky's character is a sexy, charming parolee who has a chance to bring Witherspoon's cop out of her shell.
Lynch recently recurred on The Americans and House of Lies and also was in Camp X-Ray, the Kristen Stewart indie drama. He is repped by Abrams Artists and Suskin Management.
Jones appears in Godzilla, which opens Friday. He also was on Hawaii Five-0, Nikita and Revolution. He is repped by Mavrick Artists and Luber Roklin Entertainment and Stone Meyer.
Kazinsky recurred on HBO’s vampire drama and is part of the cast of Legendary’s Warcraft video game movie being directed by Duncan Jones. He is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
