Jason Reitman and Jim Carrey are teaming up to develop a comedy titled "Pierre Pierre" for Fox Atomic.

Reitman is attached to direct the project, which will be produced by his Hard C partner Dan Dubiecki along with Escape Artists' Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal. Reitman will produce as well.

Written by Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton, the politically incorrect story, dealing with racism, sexism and Europeans, centers on a self-indulgent French nihilist (Carrey) who is entrusted to transport a stolen Mona Lisa and in the process falls back in love with his homeland.

"Pierre" will not be the Oscar-nominated Reitman's next project.

Escape Artists is prepping a remake of "The Taking of Pelham 123," starring John Travolta and Denzel Washington.

Hard C is in preproduction on the comedic horror movie "Jennifer's Body," which begins shooting this month in Vancouver.

Reitman is repped by WMA.

Carrey, repped by CAA and Eric Gold and Jimmy Miller, next will be heard as Horton in "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!" He is filming "A Christmas Carol," being directed by Robert Zemeckis.
