Remstar Group Launches Studio With Producer Clark Peterson
The new entity will develop and produce independent feature films and television projects.
Remstar Group has launched Remstar Studios, a content production and financing venture with producer Clark Peterson, the Montreal-based financier and distributor announced Tuesday.
Remstar Studios will co-finance, develop and produce independent feature films and television projects. Peterson, whose producer film credits include Monster and Rampart, will manage the daily operations and work alongside Remstar Group CEO Maxime Remillard.
The television arm will aim for series with international financing components and the film side will focus on celebrity-driven projects in the sub-$10 million budget category. The new entity has offices in both Montreal and Los Angeles.
Remstar Group's Canadian-distributed film titles include Dallas Buyers Club, Don Jon and The Wrestler.
April 29, 4:28 p.m. Update with news regarding Quebec Culture Capital Fund's investment of $5 million.
On Wednesday, Quebec Culture Capital Fund (QCCF) announced that they will invest $5 million in the Remstar Capital Partners LP fund. Remstar Group will also invest in the fund, which is dedicated to the financing of feature films and television projects.
The statement also announced that Remstar Studios intends to green light at least three projects in the upcoming 18 months.
