The Federal-style Colonial 3,400 square-foot main house, which was built in 1770, sits on nearly 39 acres near the Quinebaug River. It has three bedrooms, a wood-paneled library with built-in bookcases and crown molding, a country kitchen and four fireplaces (one an original).
The property also contains a one-bedroom guest cottage with a kitchenette and bathroom, a recreational barn, swimming pool and a helicopter landing pad.

“Socially, architecturally, and aesthetically, Pomfret is the embodiment of the old-fashioned American small town, while it is simultaneously, a culturallyrich and sophisticated community,” Zellweger said in a statement released by Coldwell Banker's. “The seasons and landscape are breathtaking, the quality of life and festive holiday celebrations are of bygone days, and you’ll make more true friends in Pomfret within weeks than you would during a lifetime in most other places.”
The property's listing agent Jonathan Radford boasts that the property is "ideal for those who crave a getaway in a quiet and charming community within easy commuting distance of Boston, Hartford and New York City."
