Gregarious Ladies of Wrestling
Gersh has signed actresses Kimmy Gatewood and Rebekka Johnson, who play Stacey “Ethel Rosenblatt” Beswick and Dawn “Edna Rosenblatt” Rivecca, respectively, on Netflix’s new comedy GLOW. The two also comprise part of the faux-1940s radio trio The Apple Sisters.
WME has signed Dr. Rahul Jandial, who appears as an expert panelist on Fox’s competition show Superhuman. He previously was with Abrams. The dual-trained brain surgeon and neuroscientist, who also has a Ph.D, is lead on-air medical correspondent on KTLA’s morning show. He appeared on National Geographic Channel’s 2015 special Brain Surgery Live with Mental Floss and is the lead on-air medical correspondent for KTLA’s morning show. In addition to appearing on ESPN’s SportsCenter, ABC’s Nightline and Vice, Jandial works as professor of neurosurgery and neurosciences at City of Hope Cancer Center in Los Angeles and has written 10 books and more than 100 academic articles. His humanitarian work, for which he received the American Medical Association’s Public Service Award, includes leading surgical missions on pediatric brain surgery across Central-South America and eastern Europe.
Worth a Bajillion
UTA has signed actress and writer Kulap Vilaysack, who created and is showrunner of Seeso’s Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. The comic also hosts the podcast Who Charted? with Howard Kremer and has recurred on Children's Hospital and Comedy Bang! Bang! (hosted by husband Scott Aukerman). She is in post on Origin Story, a documentary about her emotional and physical journey to explore her Laotian roots.
