Resistance was futile
Online personality Flula Borg has signed with UTA. The German musician and comedian has amassed more than 56 million views on his YouTube channel, whose videos include musical covers, TV episode recaps (sort of) and celebrity junket interviews on behalf of outlets such as Screen Junkies and Metacafe. Borg has parlayed his web fame into a role in Pitch Perfect 2, as a member of the rival German a capella team (he shows up in the trailer at 1:38). Borg will also be seen next year in WWE Studios’ comedy Killing Hasselhoff, which in addition to the Baywatch star himself also features Hulk Hogan and Ken Jeong. Borg continues to be repped by Brillstein and attorneys Cuffe Owens and Brian Agboh at Felker Toczek.
Two actors enter The Green Room
Sons of Anarchy alum McNally Sagal has signed with management company The Green Room. Sagal (sister-in-law of SOA star Katey Sagal) played St. Thomas Hospital administrator Margaret Murphy, the boss of Maggie Siff’s Tara on the recently concluded FX drama. Sagal’s many credits include SLC Punk!, Chicago Hope, Boy Meets World, Murder One and The X Files.
The Green Room also has signed YouTube star Jimmy Wong. The actor and musician stars in the Streamy Award-winning web series Video Game High School, which set multiple crowdfunding records (including $900,000 for its third and final season) and has been nominated for a Producers Guild Award. (The series is created by Wong’s brother, Freddie Wong.) Jimmy Wong was recently among the notable YouTubers invited by Lionsgate and Google to create the Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 promotional web series District Voices, and he also stars in the MTV Other web series Fast Food Heights.
