They’ll push his career to a new frontier
UTA has signed Karl Urban, who plays Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in the current Star Trek movie franchise. He’ll be seen next summer in Star Trek Beyond and Disney’s Pete’s Dragon. Urban also has starred as the titular judge in 2012’s Dredd, and his other major credits include The Bourne Supremacy, Walking With Dinosaurs, Red and two films each in the Riddick and Lord of the Rings series. The New Zealand native first gained notice for his lead roles in The Price of Milk and Out of the Blue in his home country. He continues to be repped by McKuin Frankel.
Spinning publicity magic
Publicity firm PMK*BNC has signed Alberto Rosende, who will be a series regular on Shadowhunters, the upcoming TV adaptation of the YA fantasy series The Mortal Instruments. The former Blue Bloods actor will play Simon in the drama, which premieres Jan. 12 on Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family).
Here comes his girl
