Republic Records Restructures Media Department With New Executive Hires

The "dream team" of publicists handles such acts as Jessie J., Phantogram and The Weeknd

Republic Records announced a restructuring of its media department Tuesday that includes new executive hires.

Beau Benton joins the record label as vice president, media, following nearly a decade at the independent public relations firm 42 West, working press for notables Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Pharrell Williams. In his new position, he will oversee press campaigns for Jessie J., The Weeknd, James Bay, Seth MacFarlane and others, as well as devising and executing campaigns for high-profile soundtrack releases.

Marisa Bianco will now be senior director, media, joining Republic following nine years at Atlantic Records, where she helped break new artists including Janelle Monáe, Christina Perri and Sevyn Streeter. She also worked with campaigns for established acts like Matchbox Twenty and Jason Mraz. Her roster now includes Phantogram, Colbie Callait, Stromae, Nickelback and The Weeknd, among others.

Bryan Kehn, Taylor Vaughn and Samara Shwidock all join the team as well in manager positions. Respectively, they come from EMI, Epic Records and Press Here Publicity.

The label's senior vice president, media Joseph Carozza called the new media department "a dream team," in a statement, adding, "We have assembled the most dynamic and diverse group of media professionals that will enable us to compete at the highest level."

"This collection of top notch media executives with a combination of indie and major label experience allows us to cover every spectrum of artist development and enhancement," Charlie Walk, executive vice president, Republic Records said in a statement.
