Sure, Rihanna may be getting honored with a CFDA Fashion Icon award in June and has been named an icon at the American Music Awards, but that doesn't mean she's exactly the friendliest role model around. At least, not after she cyberbullied a fan for wearing a prom ensemble modeled after an outfit she wore in 2010.
One of Rihanna's biggest fans, 16-year-old Alexis Carter, found inspiration in the singer's Alexandre Vauthier-designed jumpsuit she wore to the 2010 Echo Awards in Berlin and decided to wear a similar-looking winged outfit to her school prom. When her classmates started posting images of her dress on social media, users started reposting the photo with the hashtag #PromBat.
Instead of showing support, Rihanna decided to make fun of her fan's homage, posting two photos of Carter on her Twitter, including one side-by-side photo of the teen and the Wu-Tang Clan's iconic bat-like logo.
"I was very offended. Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing? The poses was different but the outfit wasn't," Carter told Fox Baltimore. "She don't love her fans like she says she does."
C'mon @badgalriri, you can do better than this.
