Badass RiRi even had Brad Pitt introduce her to the stage because, well, she can

At Rihanna's inaugural Diamond Ball on Thursday evening, Brad Pitt expressed his thoughts about the multihyphenate before introducing her to the stage. "With all the billions of people in the world, she's only managed to help a million souls to have a better life," teased the actor of RiRi, who arrived in a glamorous navy Zac Posen gown and dazzling diamond Chopard necklace.

"No, no, no, her résumé is even more disappointing — executive producer, fashion designer, actress, philanthropist and, uh, something else; she sometimes sings," he continued, joking with the glitzy crowd. "Goddamn it, just do something with your life."

But all jokes aside, RiRi must be doing something right if she had one of the biggest names in Hollywood introduce her to the stage to perform a medley of her biggest hits, including "Diamonds in the Sky," "Pour It Up," "Where Have You Been" and "Umbrella." Despite the fact that Rihanna didn't hit the stage until close to 11 p.m. (she was originally scheduled to perform at 9:30), most partygoers didn't seem to mind as they stayed late into the evening to hang out with the singer, who performed with a live orchestra. At one point during her performance, the face of MAC Viva Glam even acted as orchestrator. If there's anyone who can pull together that type of setting, it's definitely bag gal RiRi.

The black-tie gala, held at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, was held in support of Rihanna's charity, Clara Lionel Foundation (named in honor of her grandparents Clara and Lionel Brathwaite), which works to improve the quality of life in communities by promoting health, education, arts and culture. Guests including Salma Hayek, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Nikki Reed, Tyrese Gibson and Big Sean — who closed out the night with a surprise performance — were among the famous faces to show their support.

The evening also featured a live auction, with attendees getting the chance to bid on a Kanye West Experience Tour package, attending a Gucci fashion show, diamond Chopard earrings and a Damien Hurst painting, which ended up being purchased by Hayek for $190,000.

Despite the mild storm that kicked in throughout the evening, there was nothing that was going to ruin Rihanna's big night. She is a diamond in the sky, after all.
