Fenty x Puma: Rihanna Pounces on New York Fashion Week
And Gigi Hadid — with silver paint in her hair — closed her show.
There wasn't a bad seat in the house at the Fenty by Rihanna fashion show Friday night — except for, perhaps, the one Anna Wintour was sitting in.
The singer's collaboration with Puma, named after Rihanna's last name, drew a starry crowd at the Financial District venue of 23 Wall Street, which included Pete Wentz (one of the first to arrive), rumored beau Travis Scott who sat next to designer Jeremy Scott, and Naomi Campbell, who sent handlers scrambling for a seat front and center when she arrived late and there appeared to be no prominent place to put her.
Wintour, like the other A-listers, was also seated front row, yet was oddly stuck behind one of several large mirrored rectangular poles, almost entirely obstructing the view directly in front of her. When the show did start, a respectful 30 minutes late, the blockade didn't keep the Vogue editor-in-chief from being able to adequately judge RiRi's creations, however.

Each model passed directly in front of the front rows after taking her turn on the Narnia-like catwalk, allowing for everyone — even those seated behind the mirrored poles — to get an eyeful of the sheer tops, drapey styles and logo outfits in the collection. This included Gigi Hadid, who closed the show wearing a black faux fur jacket barely zipped, white spiked boots and silver paint in her hair.
Rihanna herself came out to take a bow at the end, but kept her hood up as she uncharacteristically took a shy twirl on the catwalk and exited without making a big scene. Guests were treated to pink champagne as they left.
