Dress du Jour: Rita Ora Goes for Next-Level Shine
The Dress: A long-sleeve SS17 Temperley London gown encrusted in champagne-colored sequins and embroidered floral details.
The Wearer: Rita Ora, styled by Jason Rembert.
The Event: Billboard's 10th annual Women in Music event, held at New York's Pier 36 on Friday morning. This year's ceremony honored Madonna (who received the Woman of the Year title), Shania Twain (Icon), Halsey (Rising Star), Andra Day (Powerhouse), Meghan Trainor (Chart Topper), Maren Morris (Breakthrough Star), Kesha (Trailblazer) and Alessia Cara (Rule Breaker).
Why It Matters: Alice Temperley's fashion label, founded in 2000, has been experiencing a red-carpet resurgence. Her designs most recently have been worn by Kate Hudson, Krysten Ritter, Alessandra Ambrosio and, now, British singer and new America's Next Top Model host Rita Ora. The performer was a complete showstopper in the playful, shimmery gown. Though it could have come off as being over-the-top for a daytime event, Ora's glam squad balanced the shine with an "I woke up like this" untidy updo (courtesy of hairstylist Brent Lawler) and a peachy bronze glow (thanks to makeup artist Kathy Jeung).
