Rita Wilson Joins Huffington Post For ‘Huff/Post 40’
The actress, producer and writer will be the editor-at-large for a new section of Arianna Huffington’s popular website aimed at boomers.
AOL/Huffington Post Media Group, announced Thursday that Rita Wilson has been named editor-at-large of “Huff/Post 40.”
The new section of the wildly popular Huffington Post launches in August and is aimed at reaching those 40-years-old and older, as the name implies.
"Issues related to being over forty have always intrigued me, Wilson said in a release announcing her appointment.
“My mom and dad always used to say, 'life begins at forty.' The idea that we boomers are somehow supposed to wind things down as we get older has completely escaped me," the 54-year-old added.
Wilson, of course, is a respected actress and producer who won over the world around a decade ago after co-producing the international smash My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
“We are thrilled that Rita is joining us,” said Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of AOL Huffington Post Media Group.
“Calling the site ‘Huff/Post 40’ was her idea,” Huffington added.
“Her belief that it’s never too late to follow your dreams makes her the perfect godmother for Huff/Post 40 as it takes shape. As a talented actress and producer, she knows how to engage audiences and bring passion and a sense of humor to everything she does.”
This isn’t the first time Wilson has flexed her writing/editing skills. Wilson has been a contributing editor to Harper’s Bazaar since 2006 and has also written for Oprah magazine. The actress and wife to Tom Hanks is currently writing a screenplay for Fox 2000, Terms Of Embarrassment.
