Rob Guthrie Upped to Operations Head at SONGS Music Publishing
Veteran exec assuming a variety of new roles at red-hot indie music publishing company.
Rob Guthrie has been promoted to Head of Operations at SONGS Music Publishing, it was announced by company CEO Matt Pincus. Guthrie has been upped from his former role as head of copyright and royalty at SONGS, where he has worked since 2007.
“I'm thrilled to move into this next phase of growth with SONGS,” Guthrie remarked in a statement. “We will meet the demands of the rapidly evolving industry with cutting-edge systems, forward-thinking licensing practices and an incredible community of creative talent."
Guthrie will now oversee the business affairs, systems, international society and sub-publisher relations departments in addition to his current duties guiding the copyright, administration and royalty divisions. He will also be in charge of digital negotiations, as well as SONGsearch, the creative licensing platform, and yourSONGS, the publisher's creative management portal for songwriters, along with additional projects still in beta.

Before his time at SONGS, Guthrie served as royalties manager at Beggars Group.
The SONGS Music Publishing roster features 350 contemporary songwriters, including Lorde, The Weeknd, Diplo, Nelly and DJ Mustard, with offices in N.Y., L.A., London and Nashville.
