LONDON -- Rob Heydon's Ecstasy, the film based on Irvine Welsh's follow up novel to Trainspotting, is gearing up to shoot in Canada this week.
Starring Kristin Kreuk and Billy Boyd, the $5 million budgeted picture is based on Welsh's Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance, a number one bestseller in over 20 countries.
Intandem Films, London-based sales and finance house listed here on the stock exchange, told investors Friday it has signed up for international sales duties ahead of its shoot.
Billed as a dark romantic comedy, Ecstasy is hoping to ape the success of Trainspotting, which garnered more than $72 million at the box office having been made for just $3.5 million.
