Robert De Niro, John Travolta Team Up for 'Killing Season'

Robert De Niro and John Travolta are teaming up to star in the action movie Killing Season for Millenium Films and Corsan Pictures.
The movie, set in the Appalachian Mountains, is scheduled to begin production Jan. 16. Travolta had been eyeing Gotti: In the Shadow of My Farther as his next film. At one point, that project was also aiming for a January start, but now it appears Travolta has opted to take on Killing Season in that time slot.

Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider) will direct from a script by Evan Daugherty (Snow White and the Huntsman). In the movie, De Niro will play a military vet, living in a remote cabin, who is visited by an European tourist (Travolta), who turns out to be a former Serbian soldier looking for revenge.
In consultation with Corasan, Nu Image/Millennium is taking the lead on international sales, which will be offered at the American Film Market, which kicks off Nov. 2 in Santa Monica.
“I’ve loved this project from the moment I read Evan Daughterty’s remarkable script,” Corsan CEO Paul Breuls said. “It’s thrilling, imaginative, unexpected and dominated by two extraordinary characters on a collision course. I’m very pleased this film is moving into production and to be partnered with Avi Lerner and his team at Millennium.”
“We’re excited to be co-financing and co-producing this film with Corsan and to be working again with Robert DeNiro and John Travolta,” Nu Image/Millennium topper Lerner said. “We’ve never seen these two great actors on screen together before, and we’re excited to see what comes of the combination.”
