Robert Downey Jr. Expecting Third Child
UPDATED: The "Iron Man" actor announced the news on Twitter in idiosyncratic fashion.
Robert Downey Jr. is about to welcome his first baby girl.
His wife, Susan Downey, is expecting a girl in November, his reps have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Avengers star announced the news on Twitter on July 9 with a characteristically casual message: "Yo. Susan. Me. Baby. Girl. November. Scorpio?"
Robert confirmed the news on Facebook as well. "Um. I don't know if it's a 'man's world,' but I'm certain women run it," he wrote. "Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a baby. Girl. November."
This will be the couple's second child together, joining two-year-old son Exton Elias Downey. Robert, 49, has a 20-year-old son, Indio, with ex-wife Deborah Falconer.
Indio was arrested June 29 on suspicion of cocaine possession and is due in court Aug. 29. Robert issued a statement after the arrest, saying that Indio had "likely inherited" the addiction and that he hopes his son can be "another recovery success story."
Downey currently appears in the culinary comedy Chef and stars in the upcoming courtroom drama The Judge, hitting theaters Oct. 10. He will appear in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is now filming.
