'Bel Ami' Trailer: Robert Pattinson Beds Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman (Video)
The Paris-set period drama details a young soldier's rise to power, and is based on the 1885 French novel of the same name.
Move over Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson isn't exactly a one-woman-man in his latest film.

Bel Ami, the film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's 1885 novel, stars the Twilight actor as Georges Duroy, an ex-soldier and journalist who uses his charm and good looks to climb the social ladder in Paris. Rachel Bennette wrote the adapted screenplay.

Directed by Decian Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, the film also stars Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci as Duroy's various -- and married -- love interests.
Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions nabbed the domestic distribution rights to the film at the American Film Market in November. The film is expected to begin rolling out overseas at the end of February 2012.
