To fete first anniversary of Sundance Channel in Europe

PARIS -- Sun will meet Sundance when Robert Redford heads to Cannes to fete the first anniversary of the Sundance Channel in Europe at the 26th annual MIPCOM market among other sophisticated small screen stars, organizers Reed MIDEM said Tuesday.

MIPCOM attendees will be able to get "Up Close and Personal" with the star who will participate in a media Q&A on Oct. 6th and discuss the Sundance Channel's plans to expand across the globe.

Gene Simmons will give marketgoers a French KISS when he heads to the Croisette to promote his A&E reality show "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" alongside former Playmate of the Year Shannon Tweed.

Fox International Channels will launch "The Walking Dead" with the show's exec producer Gale Anne Hurd and cast members Andrew Lincoln and Sarah Wayne Callies will be very much alive as they make their way down the Croisette to promote the new show.

British cult series "Little Britain" will see its stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas bringing the laughs to the Riviera along with their new series "Come Fly With Me" which BBC Worldwide plans to introduce to international buyers at the market.

"90210" vet Luke Perry will be in town to present Entertainment One's TV movie "Goodnight for Justice" directed by Perry's former costar Jason Priestley. The film will premiere on the Hallmark Channel stateside.

Entertainment One is also bringing Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant and Eric Balfour to Cannes to present mystery drama "Haven" based on a Stephen King novel that will air on the SyFy Channel in the U.S.

Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick will fly from Cleveland to Cannes to promote their comedy "Hot in Cleveland" distributed worldwide by Endemol.

This year's market will be quite "The Event" as star of NBC's buzzed-about conspiracy thriller Laura Innes and exec producer Steve Stark promote the new drama.

Writer, producer and actor Ken Finkleman will give market attendees a sneak preview of "Good Dog," his new series from Shaftesbury Films and the new face of "Midsomer Murders" Neil Dudgeon will also be at MIPCOM to promote that series.

The 26th MIPCOM market will run from Oct. 2 – 7 in Cannes.
