The agency is adding North America to its responsibilities with the band.

Muse has signed with UTA for worldwide representation, The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard have exclusively learned. The British rock trio of Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard was previously represented by the agency for international territories only.

Since forming in 1994 Muse has had eight albums reach the Billboard Top 200 and sold some 20 million albums worldwide. Its most recent, Drones, was the band's first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart when it debuted last June. Muse has also earned 16 entries on the Alternative Songs chart, including the No. 1 singles “Uprising” (17 weeks at No. 1), “Madness” (19 weeks) and “Dead Inside” (five weeks).

Muse, which has won two Grammy Awards (including best rock album this year) and two Brit Awards, is currently on its Drones World Tour. It recently completed an historic five-night run at the O2 Arena in London, shattering the venue’s single-night attendance record, and the band is slated to headline Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. in addition to more than a dozen other summer festivals.

“Muse continues to redefine rock and roll with incredible imagination and musicianship," said UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer in a statement. "We are so excited to bring them opportunities across the entertainment landscape so they can continue to thrive as artists.”

Last August UTA acquired The Agency Group, a large independent music agency with some 2,000 acts and nearly 100 agents, to form UTA Music. The firm has offices in Los Angeles, New York, London, Nashville, Toronto, Miami and Malmo, Sweden.

Muse continues to be managed by Q Prime.
