James Franco is directing the film that's a making-of story about the infamously bad 2003 cult movie, 'The Room.'

Ari Graynor, Jacki Weaver, Hannibal Buress and Andrew Santino are ready to enter The Room.

The actors are joining James Franco, Seth Rogen and Dave Franco in The Disaster Artist, New Line's making-of story about The Room, which is widely considered one of the worst movies of all time.

James Franco is directing the film, while also starring as the eccentric Tommy Wiseau, the director and star of the 2003 drama, which developed a strong cult following, including among celebrities, who loved it in a "so bad it's good" way.

Greg Sestero, who starred in The Room, and Tom Bissell wrote the 2013 nonfiction book The Disaster Artist, which chronicled the shoot. Sestero described his life as a struggling actor and what it was like to work with the mysterious and eccentric Wiseau, who had no filmmaking experience when he set out to write, direct and produce The Room, which centers on a man named Johnny whose fiancee, Lisa, cheats on him with his best friend, Mark.

James Franco's brother Dave (Neighbors) is attached to play Sestero (who played Mark) in The Disaster Artist. Graynor will play Juliette Danielle, the actress who starred as the female lead Lisa in The Room. Danielle was an aspiring actress who was new to the business and Los Angeles when she was cast in the film. Josh Hutcherson was recently cast in the film.

Weaver is in negotiations to play Claudette while Buress will play Bill Meur, the owner of the stage Tommy rents for his movie. Santino will play Scott Holmes, an inexperienced actor who is cast to play Mike in The Room.

Seth Rogen, who also is producing through Point Grey Pictures along with Evan Goldberg, Vince Jolivette and Franco, will also star. Good Universe also is producing.

Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who penned The Spectacular Now and The Fault in Our Stars, wrote the script. The project is planned for a Dec. 7 start date.

Graynor was most recently cast in the Showtime pilot I’m Dying Up Here with Melissa Leo. Her film credits include For a Good Time Call, Celeste and Jesse Forever and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. She's repped by UTA and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Adler & Feldman.

Weaver stars on Starz's Blunt Talk opposite Patrick Stewart, which will soon start its second season. She can next be seen in Drake Doremus' sci-fi love story Equals opposite Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult. She's also reuniting with James Franco as she also appears in his film Zeroville, based on Steve Erickson's 2007 novel. She is repped by ICM Partners and Elevate Entertainment.

Buress worked with Rogen and Dave Franco on 2014’s Neighbors. His other film credits include The Kings of Summer and 2015’s Band of Robbers. The comedian also hosts Why? with Hannibal Buress, which premiered on Comedy Central on July 8. He’s repped by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment and Melissa Fox.

Santino just wrapped the Showtime pilot I'm Dying Up Here, which was helmed by Jonathan Levine. His previous credits include TV series Mixology and Sin City Saints. He's repped with UTA, Management 360 and Gregg Slewett at Bloom Hergott.
