Rothblum tapped sr. vp for WBITD

Sylvia Rothblum has been upped to senior vp and managing director German-speaking ter¬ritories at Warner Bros. International Television Distribution. Rothblum will supervise WBITD's operations in German-speaking Europe, overseeing the licensing of series, features, movies for television and animation.

After coming to WBITD in 2002, Rothblum was vp and managing director of German-speaking territories. Before joining WBITD, Rothblum worked at EM-TV four years as senior vp production and co-production and was responsible for the company's co-production and acquisition efforts. She also served on the board of directors for EM-TV, the Jim Henson Co. and Yoram-Gross Studios, where she was in charge of EM-TV's content, program acquisitions and production facilities.

From 1994-97, Rothblum worked at Nickelodeon in a variety of capacities and was instrumental in the launch of Nickelodeon's cable network in several European territories.

Before that, Rothblum served for five years with Kirch Media. Based in Munich, Rothblum will report to Robert Blair, senior vp Northern Europe at WBITD, and Will Geike, president and managing director at Warner Bros. Entertainment GmbH. Her promotion was announced Thursday by Jeffrey Schlesinger, president of Warner Bros. International Television, and Geike.
