Mushroom Fanatics, Sugarcane Harvesters and School Pranksters in IFFR's Bright Future Sidebar

The 2012 International Film Festival Rotterdam runs Jan. 25 - Feb. 5.

COLOGNE, Germany - American fungi fanatics, Argentine sugarcane harvesters and Canadian school pranksters are among the topics in the features selected for the International Film Festival Rotterdam's Bright Future sidebar.

The projects include US indie Now, Forager, a love story set in the world of mushroom foragers; Canadian drama The Ultimate Pranx Case, a story of a  school prank that gets out of hand; the Argentine film Corta, on the craft of harvesting sugarcane; the U.K. triller Kill List and The Great Northwest, a road movie from U.S. helmer Matt McCormick which retraces a journey depicted in a photo album from 1958.

In total 68 features will screen in the Bright Future section, 14 of them world premieres. The 2012 International Film Festival Rotterdam runs from Jan. 25 - Feb. 5.
