RTL TV ad sales up 3.6%
German retailers main source of boostCOLOGNE, Germany -- RTL Television's sales division IP Deutschland shrugged off news of the global advertising downturn to boast a 3.6% year-over-year revenue growth for 2008.
German retailers were the main source of the boost, spending nearly 35% more on television advertising this year on RTL Television's four commercial channels RTL, Vox, Super RTL and n-tv.
RTL also has been the main beneficiary of problems at competitor ProSiebenSat.1. ProSieben's new ad sales model was rejected by many German clients, who booked spots with RTL instead.
