RuPaul's Emmy-Nominated Gowns Go On Display in West Hollywood
Get up close and personal with the glitziest gowns in town.
If you thought the over-the-top embellished gowns on RuPaul's Drag Race were impressive on TV, just wait till you see them in person.
Starting Tuesday and for the next four weeks, seven handcrafted gowns from Logo's hit reality competition series will be on display for all to admire at contemporary men's clothing store LASC in West Hollywood. That's right, now's your chance to get up close and personal with gowns worn by Mama Ru herself.
The exhibition, which features a sampling of costumes by designer Zaldy Goco, who is nominated for an Emmy for his work on the show, arrives just in time for the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars, which premieres Aug. 25.
Though RuPaul Charles is nominated for an Emmy as outstanding host of a reality series, don't expect him to arrive at the awards show in one of the glamorous gowns he wears on TV. Charles told THR's Scott Feinberg earlier this month that he no longer enjoys the four-hour getting-ready process drag requires. "For me, it's a business," he said, "so you won't see me in my drag if I'm not getting paid."
